Entrepreneurship is basically gardening. As your Higher Self plants seeds of awareness, inspiration and opportunity into you, so too do you plant seeds of awareness, inspiration and opportunity into other people. Voilà, business happens.
The more seeds you plant, the more your garden will prosper. That’s because the more seeds you plant, the more experienced of a gardener you become, boosting your chances for success.
I often think of my root chakra as a financial garden where beautiful flowers, plants and trees flourish, bearing exquisite and delicious golden fruit to be enjoyed.
When a seed arrives into your awareness, it is your choice to plant it into the ground. In my previous article, I said that acting on inspiration is how you change your whole reality.
How you plant this seed into the ground depends on what you are being guided to do. It could be to brainstorm, to talk to a potential client or business partner or vendor, to journal, to research, to sing and dance, to take a nap or a bath, to heal, or to do whatever you feel called to do.
As this seed takes root into your energy and on Earth, you need to allow space for its own intelligence to come through. After all, no one tells a seed what to do. It already knows and it is already wired for birth and success. You’re the gardener. You’re the steward. You can hold the seed in your hands and watch the seed bloom but you are not the seed.
Because you are not the seed, if that seed “fails” to flourish, you don’t need to take down your self–esteem and self–worth along with it.
It would be like watching your basil plant not grow and then saying to yourself, “I’m such a piece of s.”
As the gardener, what you can do is to support the seed’s innate consciousness and wiring for birth and success. You can shine sunlight on it, you can tend to it, water it, and simply appreciate it. The seed and its growth (or not) will tell you what to do.
Let me say again:
They’re in charge. You are not the seed. You are the gardener. You are the midwife.
This is a helpful way for us to separate ourselves from our ideas and allowing it its own divine intelligence, independent from our own overthinking and fears.
The more you garden and handle seeds, seeing what works and what doesn’t, the more experienced of a gardener you become. An experienced gardener knows a thing or two about the right conditions for gardening.
For instance, they know not to plant a seed when the soil is frozen or dry. They also know not to work something to death because overworking and controlling kills a plant or a flower’s life.
This means we don’t try to start a new project when our energy is needing rest or rebirth. We also don’t try to control the process of growth. We don’t try to dictate the outcome. This is why business plans that try to dictate the outcome in five or ten years are kind of laughable. At least, god laughs when we plan.
If the divine gave you this inspiration, they will give you the steps, the energy, and the resources to birth it (or something better) into physical reality. It may be that the divine plan isn’t for you to birth this idea but to birth yourself. The seed was simply the bait for you to be interested in playing the game.
It’s like stories about people who were chasing after millions end up not having those millions but finding their true selves.
It is also entirely up to you what you do with the seeds you’re given. Seeds are potentials. They’re not divine assignments or spiritual obligations.
Just because the universe or your Higher Self presented you with a seed, it doesn’t mean you have to take this on. The only Divine assignment you have is the one that you actually take on. There is no “have to”. This isn’t religion where the belief is you’ll be a better person, more loved, or get to Heaven when you do what god wants.
When you see yourself as the gardener of your ideas or business, you’ll start to feel more playful and relaxed. You’ll be in the space of experimenting with what works and what doesn’t, and not so hung up on achieving Instagrammable success. “Failures” won’t hit your system as hard because if this seed didn’t prosper, there are a ton more seeds to try.
Have you ever opened up a pomegranate or any fruit to reveal just how much abundance is contained inside a fruit? Within that seed, there are dozens and hundreds more fruit to be born, and each of those seeds does, too. The number of opportunities fractal out to infinity.
You don’t have just one seed, one chance. Inside that one seed are plenty more seeds. As long as you show up to garden, you’ll be given as many seeds to work with as your energy can handle.
I used to be really hung up on being CEO of this and CEO of that. Now, I just need to be a gardener tending to my beautiful garden. That’s really all your Higher Self is asking of you — to show up and tend to your garden.
